Schedule 01 — Raw cashew nuts & kernels

Ogbomoso cashew. The origin buyers ask for by name.

Oyo State is Nigeria's largest cashew‑growing state, and Ogbomoso is its heart: big, dense nuts with the high kernel outturn that processors in Vietnam and India pay a premium for. We buy directly from farmer clusters around the town and bring every lot into our own processing facility — one of the largest cashew units in Oyo State — where it is dried, de‑stoned, machine‑calibrated and graded under a hygiene routine we control ourselves. Shipping runs February through June, some of the first fresh raw cashew of the year on the world market.

Outturn you can bank onOyo State nuts averaged about 50 lbs of kernel per 80 kg bag in published sampling; 48 lbs and above is the grade the trade prefers.
First fresh cropNigeria's harvest starts in late January, ahead of most origins — new‑season nuts while other regions are still waiting.
Naturally grownSmallholder orchards, rain‑fed and sun‑ripened, without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides — then dried and graded by machine in our own facility.

Our facility

Machine‑processed, under our own roof — one of the biggest cashew units in Oyo State.

Most Nigerian cashew changes hands three or four times before it is ever graded. Ours goes straight from the farm cluster into our facility, where machines — not guesswork — do the drying, de‑stoning, calibration and grading, and where hygiene is a daily routine rather than a promise.

01Mechanical drying & calibration Nuts are dried to ≤ 8 % moisture, then de‑stoned and calibrated by machine into uniform size bands — so a bag from the bottom of the lot counts the same as one from the top.
02Hygiene as a routine Covered, raised storage on pallets rather than floors; equipment and contact surfaces washed down on schedule; gloves, hairnets and boots on the line; pest control and fumigation by a licensed operator.
03Capacity that holds a schedule One of the largest cashew processing units in Oyo State, so a repeat container programme runs off our own throughput instead of whatever the spot market has that week.
04Quality control on site Cutting tests, nut counts, moisture readings and defect counts are run in our own QC room on samples drawn across the lot — not at the top of the bag — and the results reach you with photographs.
05Traceable lots Every lot is tied to its farmer cluster, its drying batch and its container seal, so a question about one bag can be answered all the way back to the orchard.

The journey

From the field to the ship.

Seven stages, start to finish. Scroll and the stage on the left follows along.

01Stage one
01 · In the orchard

Trees a generation old, still rain‑fed.

Our partner farmers around Ogbomoso grow the way their parents did: rain‑fed trees, sun‑ripened fruit, no synthetic fertilisers or pesticides. We buy at the farm gate and pay for quality, so the best nuts come to us first.

02 · Harvest & collection

Picked in season, collected within days.

The nut drops from February to June. Our field team collects from the farm clusters and moves stock to the facility quickly, so moisture never has the chance to climb and the shell stays sound.

03 · Sun‑drying & sorting

Down to 8 % moisture, then hand‑sorted.

Nuts are spread on drying floors and turned daily until moisture is at or below 8 %. Immature, spotted and broken nuts are picked out by hand, along with any foreign matter.

04 · In our facility

Machines, not guesswork — and hygiene on a schedule.

Every lot comes into our own processing unit, one of the largest in Oyo State. Nuts are de‑stoned, calibrated by machine into uniform size bands and moved on covered lines; equipment is washed down on a logged schedule, staff work in gloves, hairnets and boots, and stock sits on pallets rather than floors.

05 · Cutting test & grading

Cut, counted and weighed — before we quote.

Every lot gets a cutting test for kernel outturn, a nut count per kilogram, a moisture reading and a defect count. The results and photographs go to you before there is a contract to sign.

06 · Filling & weighing

Filled to 80 kg, weighed, stitched.

Sorted nuts drop from the hopper into new jute bags on a platform scale. Each bag is filled to 80 kg net, stitched closed and marked with the lot number, so what the tally says is what the bag holds.

07 · Container stuffing

Counted in, sealed under supervision.

Bags are stuffed and tallied under our supervisor’s eye, with kraft‑paper lining and desiccants where the voyage needs them. The container is sealed and photographed, and the seal number reaches you the same day.

From Apapa and Tin Can Island our team handles export clearance and the full document set, then shares the bill of lading and vessel tracking until your container lands — FOB, CFR or CIF, as your contract prefers.
