Schedule 02 — Sesame seeds

Natural white sesame. Cleaned to 99 %.

Nigeria is one of the world's largest sesame exporters, and its off‑white seed is the most traded type on the market: high in oil, mild in flavour, and prized by crushers, tahini makers and bakeries. Ours comes from the northern and middle‑belt growing states — Nasarawa, Benue, Jigawa, Kano and their neighbours — and is machine‑cleaned in our facility before it is bagged.

The journey

From the field to the ship.

Seven stages, start to finish. Scroll and the stage on the left follows along.

01Stage one
01 · Sesame in flower

A crop that ripens from the bottom up.

Sesame grows across eleven northern and middle‑belt states — Nasarawa, Benue, Jigawa, Kano, Plateau and their neighbours. The capsules fill from the base of the stalk upward, which is why timing the cut matters so much.

02 · Cut, stooked & shaken

Dried upright so the seed stays clean.

Stalks are cut and stood together in stooks to finish drying on their feet. When the capsules split, the bundles are shaken over sheets — the seed never touches the ground, which is half of why Nigerian sesame runs so clean.

03 · Cleaned to 99 % purity

Machine‑cleaned, de‑stoned, bagged.

At the facility the seed passes a rotary cleaner and a de‑stoner that lift dust, stalk and stones away. What is left is bagged at 98 – 99.5 % purity in 50 kg PP bags, lot‑numbered like everything else we ship.

04 · Oil content & FFA

Tested the way crushers buy.

Oil content, free fatty acid, moisture and admixture are measured before the offer goes out — the numbers a crusher, a tahini maker or a bakery supplier will each check on arrival.

  • Oil 48 – 52 % (min 45 %)
  • FFA ≤ 2 % · moisture ≤ 6 – 8 %
  • Purity 98 – 99.5 %
05 · Filling & weighing

Filled to 50 kg, weighed, stitched.

Cleaned seed is filled into 50 kg PP bags on a platform scale — 25 kg where your packing line prefers it — then stitched and marked with the lot number.

06 · Container stuffing

Counted in, sealed under supervision.

Bags are stuffed and tallied under supervision, with lining and desiccants where the route calls for them. The container is sealed and photographed the same day.
